The Guide to a Bachelorette Trip in Charleston, SC
Beautiful architecture, flowers everywhere, perfect shopping and delicious food - what more can you ask for? Last May, the girls and I headed to Charleston for my bachelorette weekend. I had been dreaming of this trip for a long time and let me tell you, it exceeded all of my dreams! We had perfect weather, and spent our time getting lost in the old streets of this beautiful city. Keep reading to find out where we stayed, what we ate, and what we did!
We chose to stay at an Airbnb located in James Island. It was the best choice for our budget and the Uber ride was only about 12 minutes into downtown Charleston! We had a group of 6 girls, so selecting an Airbnb meant we could have more space to relax. Here are a few crazy cute options!
Brunch at Mills House
I would first like to say that this is a beautiful, history rich, PINK hotel. It has a beautiful outdoor patio and a stunning indoor dining area as well. We dined her for brunch one morning and it was such a wonderful experience! The food was phenomenal. The ‘Mills House Breakfast’ and the ‘Eggs Benedict with Crab’ were both big hits at our table!
Lunch and Cocktails at The Rooftop
Nestled within downtown is the The Vendue Hotel. On the roof of this hotel is a rooftop restaurant and bar with a amazing view! I highly recommend the ‘Purple Rain’ cocktail - basically a blackberry marg! The burger and fish tacos were also amazing here.
Dinner at Poogan’s Porch
Best. Meal. This was our splurge dinner of the trip and oh was it worth it! The list of recommendations is hefty… The mac and cheese + lump crab cakes + braised short rib + any dessert on the menu. This is located in an old southern home that was turned into a restaurant in 1976!
The most fun thing we did on the trip was a private sailboat ride with OM Sailing Charters. This was a 3 hour sailboat ride with just me and my girls. We brought snacks and wine, a rockin’ playlist, and enjoyed the water and sunshine. This is my biggest recommendation for a trip to Charleston with a big group. It is so worth every penny, and such a wonderful experience!
